I walked down the dark hallway, my eyes scanning the rooms on my way.The door was slightly ajar as I reached the end of the hallway, my hands pushing the door open as I stepped in.Her sorrowful sobs reached my ears as I stared at her little form huddled in the corner of the dark room.Moonlight from the large window fell on her body as she continued to sob sitting on the floor. My stomach twisted in a bad way seeing her like this.A pain seared at the bottom of my heart as she hiccuped making me move towards her.I sat on the floor near her silently, not saying a word.She noticed my appearance as she stiffened for a fraction of second.Her cries had stifled as we sat in the dark with moonlight showering over us. "He had broken me into so many piece that it will take a life time to collect all.He ripped me apart from my soul, from my self respect making me crumble to the ground like ash.."Her hoarse yet soft voice resonated around the room making me turn my eyes to her beautiful face. It faces two important aspects: religion and self discipline vs. desire. This book explores the desires of humans and truths through the brave Adali's perspective, and as she discovers, she grows as a person and her personality develops. I have read many stories on Wattpad that describe Muslim women to be the ones who marry and there is a "true love" romance off of that, but I did not want to write about the weakness of love. I wanted to write about the strength of religion and the brave courage of a woman intent on equality in a relationship, and her success in a prominent profession. That is what this story is about.

The things I knew that were once unethical, were bound to be saintly. The dreams I dreamt once upon a time, seemed to be an epitome of nightmares. The heart I thought I stole long ago, always belonged to someone else. The crimes I have committed all my life, became a handful of lessons that I ought to learn. The world I looked up to once, became a mortal enemy of mine. The family I thought would disown me, fought my battles for me. No, it wasn't for my dead sister, or for the woman I once claimed to love, or for my money-grubbing father, or even for the woman who was destined for me.
