A long journey that I literally walked through the fire to save. It was the one thing I managed to save when my house burned to the ground a year ago.

I'm putting it out here for the first time for people to read.

Please let me know what you think and thank you for taking the time.

Hopefully we'll continue to enjoy this journey together.

This is a tale of Slade, a young boy who was convinced his life didn't matter. He lives in a massive empire that was carved out of hundreds of frightened villages centuries ago during the Long Night. Now what was once an army of adventurers and guild members is now one of the greatest forces in the world.

But strange forces seek to undo all of this when the Withered Hand unleashes a sleeping sickness that deprives of waking child of tomorrow. Slade and his friends are the only ones that manage to escape the clutches of the Nightmare King.

Now, with the help of the ancient wizard Rune, they will travel the Empire, enlisting the aid of the sage Guilds, each keepers of a different type of knowledge and skill, to find a way to wake the children of the Empire once again.

*Each of the 4 guilds has a special focus of knowledge.
They are:
The Engineers: Designers and builders of machinery
The Sorcerers: The keepers of the arcane and magic
The Alchemists: The workers of change and transmutation, seeing what can be changed from one element to the next
The Apothecaries: Keepers of the body. Makers of tinctures, salves, potions and other remedy to ailments of the body and mind.

Life ended quietly. Rebirth? Not so much. I'd lived a perfectly normal nerd-life: a family, a career, too many hobbies, and a purse full of "just-in-case" items. Gardening, old crafting techniques, reading, manga, animé-especially the alternate-world kind. If I had one regret, it was not traveling as much as I'd wanted. But all things end eventually. I expected nothingness... or whatever reward awaited after a long, fulfilling life. Instead, I woke up to the very real problem of a massive creature trying to eat me. I'd been reborn into another world. I should have been thrilled, right? With very little to go on-aside from the fact that magic existed here-I decided the smartest approach was to keep a low profile and train like crazy. Survive first. Explore later. My new family seemed pleasantly surprised (and occasionally alarmed) by my dedication to both physical and magical training. And once I started attending school, I made fast friends... then accidentally convinced them to apprentice under my father. The more the merrier, I figured. But hiding my abilities is proving harder than expected, and the more I grow, the more certain people seem unsettled by my existence. Surviving to adulthood may be the real challenge. *This is a slow-burn, coming-of-age story with early magic training. It is not a romance-yet. **This series is marked Mature not for explicit content in this volume, but because later books will include heavier themes. I prefer to err on the side of caution. ***I am a Canadian author. "Who are you?" I demand. The boy in front of me replies, "That's not how this works, love." I freeze. That phrase. That voice. It can't be. I look up but he's just a cloaked silhouette. The rustling stops when boys surrounding us step from their hiding spots and light lanterns. Every single one of them masked and cloaked. Except the one in front of me. The lamps lit, and I see his face. "Whoa," slips from my lips as I stare at the boy in front of me. His eyes widen and his jaw almost, just almost, drops. With his guard down for that one instant I lose all fear and gain control. "You!" I yell suddenly overflowing with anger. My stomach heats with rage. I fight to stand, stronger this time with anger as fuel. He backs up, his breath increasing. Obviously, uneasy, I take it as a win and almost stand all the way. "You. What are you doing here? How did you find this place!" He switched to angry. "You! You're the reason! They put me back because of you! It was all cause of you! It was your fault! All of it!" I'm so angry I yell only what I can. My thoughts flying through my head I can only yell unexplained nonsense. I've never felt anger like this before. The red glow lightly pours off my own skin and I take notice to it. I compare it to the glow coming off of him. Suddenly, it's an instinct to allow the anger to explode and in doing so the red glow is taken from his chest as I absorb it all and throw it out in all directions. I yank down away from the boy holding me just as the red glow gets sucked from him, absorbed into my hands, and then thrown out in a sphere of red glow. All boys stumbling but not by much and the one holding me gets knocked back, I'm free. "You die now, Peter Pan!"

What happens when narration becomes magic and monsters become stories? When meaning crumbles beneath the whispers of tales, and certainties drown in the din of words, truth wears a thousand faces at the windows of night. Survive. When the untold fades, and the unseen is lost. Endure. As kingdoms fall and life ebbs away, as souls awaken only to cage themselves within the lines of pages. Fight. For what remains is a silent longing to wake again, upon the shores of a dream unborn. ------------------------------------------------------------ A multi-character fantasy tale set in a world that has forgotten how to define itself, where eras chase one another in confusion. Knights confront the unknown, detectives battle dragons, and vampires raise dogs. The stars are wrathful, the kingdoms have fallen, and magic stands stripped bare. ---------------------------------------------------------------- For those who do not like indirect suggestion: A cruel, innovative magic system A dark fantasy that blends classic fantasy, horror, and the supernatural. Long story and slow build (although you can judge it in the second chapter) Multiple characters and a big world Exploiting (inspiration from) myths, epics and legends in worldbuilding Legends from all over the world: Europe, Africa, America, Middle East, Australia, Asia, Ireland etc. Mystery, investigation, and the need to analyze, focus, and use your knowledge and abilities to reach conclusions and form your opinion before the characters do (you are part of the investigation, not just the characters) Warning: "Contains graphic violence" "Not suitable for children"

"There were many legends and stories about werewolves and vampires, dragons and elves, spirits and demons, but why couldn't he find any record about a being who lived, yet seemed not to exist in this world? Was this ritual dangerous? Summoning demons? Sacrificing his soul? Luther closed his eyes tightly. Deep down, he knew what his decision was. He needed an answer to his fifteen-year-long question." This is the story of two boys who awaken their divinities (a reaper and a sun god.) One was born with everything. The other lost the only few things he had. What will happen when the Flow of Destiny intertwines their lives? This is a story about salvation and being saved, about life and death, about exploration and adventure, about kinship, friendship, and love. Follow Luther and Aaron as they wander through the boundless Cosmos; strolling the magical market Mariana, diving into the silent depths of the Tranquil Sea, riding the Orion Express under starlit skies, visiting Sicily the city of blossoms and fruit, travelling the Heart of the Cosmos, crossing the wilds of Anasia, climbing the Tower of Tomorrow, and countless other realms where wonder never ends. What to expect: - OP MCs. - Fantasy worlds/food/species ... - Found family. - Slice of life. - Lots of cozy moments, yet the stakes are still there. - Slow burn romance (Strangers to friends to family to lovers, oblivious x oblivious.) - Cute pets. Imagine a blend of Harry Potter (a hidden magical world in a modern setting) and Percy Jackson (Descendants of Greek Gods) with a Ghibli vibe. Though told through young eyes, I hope this tale may also be read as a fairytale for grown souls: a heart-warming and wholesome adventure, with a hint of darkness and a pinch of sadness. Warnings: - Gay. No sexual content. - The story takes references from Greek mythology, Dante's Inferno, and Ars Goetia, but will add, remove, and modify many different details. Please consider this as an alternate universe.

"Why are you following me?" She asks annoyed. "I have not been following you." I find myself responding. The girl states, "Yes you have. Don't lie and answer my question." "Okay, fine. You remind me of someone and I was wondering if you could help me." The girl studies me for a moment. I wonder what she will say. This girl seems very annoyed and threatening. "What do you want from me?" I reply, "I am looking for some people so I can bring them back to our village." This is not a lie. "What village are you from?" She questions. "Just a village." Then the girl turns on me and somehow pins me on to the ground. She says, "You're one of them aren't you. You know nothing about this kingdom. What are you a morphling or a fusion?" I am shocked. How did this girl figure me out? Was it that obvious?
