Mycroft had requested Sherlock to take up a case but Sherlock refused it blindly when he realizes there were no leads. Mycroft, then suggests that Sherlock should seek help from one of his old friends. First, Sherlock and John are confused but later it dawns on them who Mycroft was referring to when he said "Her". Would Sherlock ever be able to face her again? And would she be ready to work with him after 10 years?

John soon begins to notice, and believe that Sherlock has begun to care for Winter, more deeply then he has cared for anyone ever. Can Winter break down Sherlock's walls?
