When Sonya fails to save her family from a monster, she tries to forget her past by helping others. But the past doesn't stay buried, and when the same monster threatens Sonya's new home, she must learn to forgive herself or face losing it, too.

When a monster targets Sonya's village and puts her family's lives in jeopardy, the pressure causes her to miss an arrow shot that could have saved them. 

Sonya barely escapes with her life, her bow, and her pet Leeka. As Sonya searches for a new place to call home, she finds it hard to shake the guilt that plagues her.

She decides to become a Chaser. A beast hunter. A protector of the people. She hopes to redeem herself, stop breaking under pressure, and finally shake the guilt that has haunted her since that devastating day.

Accompanied by an expert herbal healer, a clever monster trapper, and a handsome blade-wielding beast hunter, Sonya wants to grow to be a better archer and bury the past forever.

But the past haunts her and she soon comes face to face with the same monster that annihilated her home and family. 

This time, escape is not an option. Sonya must be strong enough to defeat the monster once and for all or die trying.
