Steve Rogers may have been held captive in ice for seventy years, but Hydra wasn't. They were busy. Hundreds of failed attempts at creating the next generation of super soldiers. Not a single one survived. Sixty years' of science and they were going to pull the plug.
Until it clicked.
All it took were his genes.

She didn't have a name, and she didn't have a home. She wasn't born. She wasn't raised. She was developed. Her man-made womb. Her incubator. Her cell. For the first eight years of her life, it's all she knew.
They showed her what life was like for those who were born, those who had parents, those in the real world. They showed her so she could understand how they lived, how they went to school, how they worked, how they talked, how they walked, how they were.
They showed her how to emulate them, how to deceive them, how to read them, and how to kill them.
By the time she was eight, she had killed a few hundred people in her training.
They gave her the skills.
So she used them to escape.
