While all of Caroline Forbes's friends have moved on with their lives, she has remained frozen in her seventeen-year old body. No longer free to roam around Mystic Falls because of her unchanging looks, she starts to feel bound by her thoughts and emotions.
All through the years, she tried not to think of Stefan Salvatore and the future she could have had with him. A chance confrontation with a gang of teens in the cemetery changes that.
A boy with the exact looks as Stefan Salvatore emerges from the shadows. Caroline knows it is not really him but can't stop her heart from feeling every emotion he brought out within her.
It wouldn't be as bad if he didn't bring another old foe among them.
