Noah Theodore Beckett.
The rich boy across the street with a heart of gold.

Piper Hope Leighton.
The anything but average girl with a soul filled with adventure.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"We can't pretend like everything's fine, Piper. I'm just as good as dead. Every breath I take, brings me one step closer to death's inevitable door. I can't keep doing this. I'm dying. I could die in two minutes or two years. We have to stop pretending. We have to face reality. I should be dead already. I don't deserve to be here with you. You deserve so much better. You deserve someone that can give you forever, someone you can marry, and grow old with. All I'm doing is hurting you. You shouldn't have to deal with this. With me. But I can't help it, Piper, you make me do things and I can't stop loving you. No matter what I do. I'd rather die right now than have to go a second without you."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I always believed that books started at the beginning and inevitably, ended at the last page. That is how almost all books are. But now I see that this book, is not most books. This is the encumbered story of a dying boy. My dying boy.

Noah Theodore Beckett was the kind of boy that you read about in books. The kind of boy that a girl wants to take to meet her parents and even to meet her insane family. He had a type of light around him that made everyone happy. He was loved by everyone. And he's gone.

So this is the story of Noah and Piper. This is our story. Half mine and half his, exactly like my heart.

Trigger Warning: contains graphic scenes and depictions of child abuse. Izzy hasn't had an easy twenty, almost twenty-one, years. In fact, for the first seventeen years of her life, she was physically and emotionally abused by her alcoholic mother, never able to escape the terrible life she'd been thrown in to. At eighteen, she escaped the beatings and moved into an apartment with her best friend, Reagan, but she's far from fixed. Her mother still haunts her nightmares, still lives in her head, causing her severe anxiety, depression, and PTSD. She can't win, can't escape, can't just be happy .. and all because of the woman who gave birth to her. But, despite all of that, she allows herself to finally find some hope when she's hired as her favorite baseball team's new manager - a true dream come true. More than becoming the manager, getting to hang around baseball for the majority of her days and get paid for it, she has the opportunity to work with her favorite player and celebrity crush, Noah Parker. Noah Parker, baseball prodigy, total heartthrob, has a past - a past that nobody can know about - and has secrets that nobody will ever find out. If people find out, if his well-kept secrets escape his clutches, things will never be the same. Instead, he puts on a show for the cameras, acts like a total jerk, somebody who cares about nobody and nothing - it's the only way to keep him safe. If nobody likes him, after all, they can't break his heart, or worse, leave. Until the two meet, neither believe in the possibility of finding somebody that could love them - having deemed themselves unlovable - but once they do, there's no taking back the cascade of events that cause them both to fall, hurtle, headlong into devotion for each other.

~Completed~ 'I'm bold.' 'I'm ever confident.' 'I don't give a fuck about what anyone thinks and have to say about me.' 'I'm who I am.' 'I'm Stella Downer.' That's how it has always been, but what happens when things don't go exactly the way she planned... ~~~ He said nothing more, he had a sly smile on his face as he ran his hands through his hair. No doubt he was gorgeous. No doubt he's got good lips. No doubt he got any girl he wanted. No doubt I'm having crazy thoughts right now. "You're my boyfriend's bestfriend" I blurted. "It doesn't matter, I respect that but he's the only thing standing between 'us'" he replied, his voice still as calm as ever like nothing was weird... Like 'THIS' was normal. "'We' are not possible" I said mustering all the courage I could, trying not to melt under his gaze. "Does it mean you're considering it?" He asked. I wanted to reply but I couldn't, I couldn't just make out words right now. Was I perhaps considering it? What is wrong with me?! I just stood there, staring at him, his eyes piercing into mine like he was trying to read me. There was something about those dark eyes I couldn't quite comprehend. His presence was doing something to me! Everywhere was suddenly so quiet. Where is everyone?! Few seconds later, his face was inches away from mine, I just hope it wasn't what I was thinking. Every foward motion he took, I equally took a step backwards till I felt my back hit against one of the lockers. I could have pulled out. I could have pushed him away. I could have walked away. I could have hit him or slapped him away from me. But I did nothing... My body felt numb. The only thing I could feel were the weird sensation inside me. We were a breathe apart. I could already feel his body heat... •••••• Book #1 of the Downer Sisters Series. CAN BE READ AS A STAND ALONE BOOK!

CRINGE WARNING! First book I ever wrote on here!! -- "Sometimes the person who you are willing to take a bullet for is the person behind the gun." I stood peering over the cold lifeless body that lay before my eyes. I had always thought of death the enemy, but right now, I blessed it upon the person who is now at peace. Sometimes you don't need to be the smartest, or the fastest, but you do need to be wisest. They say the blood runs deeper than water, and I believe it, because even though the people that we love can turn on us and begin to hate us, they are only human, meaning that soon they will begin to see how short life really is and how it is not to be wasted. People who seem perfect and they look like they have no floors'; they are the people who are suffering, like I was. But I found my savior in the most uncommon place. He was able to look through my mask, he saw the cracks, and tried to fix the broken girl that hid away deep inside the girl who only wanted to be seen as 'fine'. I slowly began to find comfort and safety in him, and I did the same to him. We were two broken people becoming whole. Someone once said when you pass, if you can count your true friends on one hand you are beyond lucky, and I even though I did not like the person that lay before me, I know that he once had true friends, including me. I'm a 17 year old girl who has suffered more than any other, beginning to believe that 'Hope' was just another word the people throw around. Until I fell in love with a badboy. Because once a Jackson boy falls in love he falls fast and the same goes for Noah. He only has one semester but can he show Faye what really matters in life before it's too late? Or is he going to lose her to someone else? Only time will tell. *** "Do you think I should give Kane a chance?" Noah looks down at me and his smile softens. "No." "You don't approve?" I grin as we get to our floor and start walking down the hall. "He's not right for you." "Really? You happen to know who the perfect man is for me?" I snort as I walk backwards while facing him. He grabs my hand and tugs me towards him making me yelp as I crash into him. "Noah!" For a moment he just stares at me before tucking my hair behind my ear with a gentle smile. My poor heart races a mile a minute because I don't think he realizes that he's still holding my hand and has it placed against his chest. I realize though. I notice. Just like I notice everything he does to me and how he makes me feel like I'm on cloud nine from a single touch. "You deserve the best. Not idiots like Kane." He rolls his eyes and we both smile at each other. "You deserve perfection Faye...because from what I've seen you are the epitome of that." I swoon. You're perfection to me too Noah. Can I have you?
