Trapped. Surrounded on all sides by an overpowering barrier visible only to you. A barrier consisting of your thoughts, your dreams, your hopes, separating you from the rest of the world. Thoughts struggling to escape, the memories vivid in your head. You're trying to push back the flood of emotion, trying to break down that wall that's separating you from the judgement that awaits you at the other side. Your fears captivate you and morph you into a new person entirely. Surrounded on all sides and breaking into cold perspiration. Enveloping you is that same fear, gripping at your heart. You stand still hoping for the storm to back down, hoping for another chance. Sooner or later you're faced with reality and you'll know there's no turning back. Love and Other Anxiety: a poetry collection
Love and Other Anxiety talks about the irrationality of being a lover, a partner, a friend and of being a person inside a relationship. One of the most crucial part of coming up with the idea of love as a form of anxiety is proving that it can be a reason of anxiety and why it can't be. One thing I love about writing this, is I can be vulnerable as I can be. I can be happy, sad, angry, furious, anxious, suicidal, extremely unreasonable and immature. Love and Other Anxiety, a lineup of 45 poems expressed with eagerness, experiences, and mostly imagery and metaphors of our emotions. I would describe this line up of poems as messy, unpredictable, complicated, sad, tragic and narcissist. It is all over the place. Characterized by love as a form of anxiety.
