Lucy grew up loved dearly by not only her parents, but the entire kingdom of Fiore. Her mother, the queen, was close friends with the Dragneel family, so the young princess and Natsu were nearly inseparable as children.

However, after Lucy's mother died in an accident, her father turned cold, locking her up for fear of losing his only heir. Lucy struggled just to get through life with no friends and no real family.

The General Games, however, creates a gateway for normal citizens to compete with the goal of becoming a general over the king's soldiers. Natsu plans to use this opportunity to see Lucy again after many years of separation.
