On a pleasant Monday morning, Sia walked into her office with an attractive bouquet of red roses. Heads turned in awe as she ambled along the corridor towards her workstation. She could hear giggles and gossips from her colleagues; they were too loud to ignore. She continued to walk not losing the smile on her face.
"Those roses are lovely! Her boyfriend must have gifted them."
"She's too lucky to have him! Look at her, she's glowing today."
"I think it's her manager, Rahul. I saw them a couple of times together in the cafeteria. He seems to like her."
"Oh, that's the reason for her early promotion. She's so fortunate."
Sia placed the bunch of roses carefully on her desk; took her diary from the bag and started writing.
It's a beautiful start to the day. As I walked to my office, I noticed a new flower shop near the book-store I regularly visit. The florist has creatively decorated the flowers and it appeared like the flowers were waving 'Hi' to the pedestrians. My watch gestured that I still have ample time to start work and my eyes were set on fresh red roses. I changed my direction and walked into the flower shop. It was a feast for the eyes. I was captivated by the fragrance and the exquisite colors of the flowers. As my phone rang, I was back to my senses and realized that I should make a move. I couldn't leave the place without those lovely red roses and asked the florist for a bouquet of vibrant roses. I carried them possessively close to my heart all the way to my workstation. I know they wouldn't last for more than a day, but my smile magically reappears at the sight of them! 🙂
