"Do not lay a finger on her, Areten."

"And who's going to stop me?!" She charged angrily. "You? Give me a break. You and i both know how weak, incapable, incompetent... " She paused.

A familiar ringtone sounded for a nanosecond. Tania peered again, hoping that Areten hadn't discovered her.

"Well well, isn't luck on my side. I just so happen to know where I can find a particular someone."

Areten shot a glance at the door and their eyes jammed.

"Oh no."

"Get the girl."

Tania Hortz was a normal girl with a high I.Q and a perspective of everything in and about Ankland being weird, probably starting with The Woods. When she gets home the first day of a new school year, she discovers the untidy nature of the place and her now-missing uncle. She finds an unknown door, through which she sees trouble. On running away from it, she stumbles across the one place she shouldn't go to and so her journey as The Asniver starts.
