Katherine the Time Lord died on Satalite 5 in a battle between Humans and Daleks. The Daleks shot her down before she could regenerate, so she was properly dead. That's why she couldn't explain why she suddenly woke up, along with her equally dead human friend Captain Jack Harkness, and regenerated in the middle of a corridor. And also why the Doctor had broken his promise to never leave her behind.
She suspected he had gone back to Earth to get Rose, so she hitched a ride with Captain Jack's Vortex manipulator and headed back to London. Too far back.

She found the Doctor on the verge of his regeneration...only not the one that she had left behind.

First she accidentally ran away...now she's accidentally skipped a Doctor. What's next?

There were no windows, only wire mesh lining the entire building and hard concrete pillars in between. Surely the girl I'm looking for couldn't be in here? The Doctor uncovers a girl with a dark secret, will the Doctor save her or will she drag him down with her so they both burn. First they had to find Eleven. Now they have to find Twenty Two. A dilemma or difficult circumstance from which there is no escape because of mutually conflicting or dependent conditions. "a catch-22 situation". When Jack has to come to terms with the truth about the last years, especially about his new companion, the doctor also starts to have doubts about the real reason for their reunion. -Disclaimer- I apologize if there is a spelling mistake somewhere.
