Expectations, as Seth learns are not what reality can afford. Sometimes, it's better. When 21 year old Seth Wethersfield throws a bit of a party for his birthday, and the true accomplishment of being able to drink... what better way to celebrate this fact, but by partying? Well... maybe a little to hard. WAY to hard to be truthful. So, hard he ends up going to the hospital for stomach pumping the next morning. Great expectations, huh? Even better reality. He meets a certain lady that will not only have the responsibility of confronting him with his threatening diagnose... but in the mean time being the one who leads him through the journey.
