How bad could it be to enlist your female best friend into helping you lie to your Christian family about your new relationship with your male best friend and about your newfound sexuality? Not that bad, right? Right??? --------- Nova Queen and Arizona "Ari" Matthews weren't always close in high school, but after an intense and serious conversation in the library one day, the two become the best of friends until they go their separate ways their freshman year of college. Now in their mid 20s and freshly out of grad school, they are reunited in the park of their hometown where Ari asks a huge favor of Nova that she later wishes she had refused. But in the end, will she really wish she had refused? *FA spans a timeline from 2010-2020 to help the reader see how the relationships were built between characters in a partial series of flashbacks. It also helps the reader to really see into the minds of Arizona and Nova as they age, and the effect different life events have on them. It's a bit of a slower build and the plot is mostly seen a little later in the book, but I promise it's worth it. 🙂 *I do not own any of the rights to the music nor the pictures. *Rated M for language, sexual content, destructive behaviors, suicide, and dialogue that may be triggering for some readers. *These characters may do or say things that you don't agree or may get upset with, please remember YOU ARE NOT THESE PEOPLE, and their lives are a work of fiction and my imagination. Bianca's father died after she finished her national service, and it was quite difficult for her as she had to take on the responsibilities of taking care of her sick mother and siblings. At that time, before the death of her father, who was the breadwinner of the family and responsible for taking care of his sick wife and family. But when her father died, the weight was so heavy on her that she didn't have a job or money to sustain herself and her family, or even to pay for and perform all necessary burial rites. Oyinola Adebayo, who is Bianca's friend and whose parents are wealthy, assisted in taking care of her father's burial rites and Bianca's mother's hospital bills. Bianca, a God-fearing Christian, applied to several companies but got rejected despite being a first-class graduate of business administration. Heavily saddened by the rejections from companies she had applied to, she began working in a local restaurant in order to provide for her family and pay her mother's hospital bills. One day, after work at night, Bianca found a lady who was stranded and soaked in the rain. Feeling sad and bad about once being in her shoes, helped her and spent her last penny on her, ordered a cab, and took her to her home. growing up and growing apart sometimes people who really love you have to leave you for your own good and it's okay to grow apart holding on to things that hurt isn't a wise choice They broke up in college but now are forced into an arranged marriage Will the sparks fly again or........ ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Wrong place, wrong time, wrong people, right man Surrounded with unfortunate events, unfortunate people Those slim waists, slim faces, long hair and long nails Those long legs, large hands, fluffy hair and beaded bracelets They don't belong together last days, best times, red hands and playing fights Social priorities, diwali parties, arm wrestling and life stories That's the closure I needed Searching the crows, you stand tall, stand out Walking out of that building with hurt hands and burnt minds scholar badge, scholar board, Council badges and red coats brown pants, white shirts, black shoes and red ties Sprawling crowds, yellow buses, red rickshaws and black cycles ice cream man, Mother Dairy, white vans and red lights Saw you walking on the footpath with rolled up sleeves with few friends I wouldn't wish I would be there I couldn't wish I could be there Could you be specific who do you like? Seeing my wife in the state she was in has to be the 2nd most painful thing to go through, the first being losing your little princess. I watched her sleeping peacefully, at least she was at peace and not thinking about what we are currently going through. I think the most painful thing about losing someone is that there's no warning, you don't get a chance to say a proper goodbye to them and there's no telling when you'll ever see them again. Death is a thief. - Melo Before my daughter came into the picture I used to drink and get really drunk. Alcohol has always been a coping mechanism f and my go-to for pretty much every emotion, be it happiness or sadness or even anger... it was always my go-to. But I stopped when I found out I was pregnant and only drank every now and then but never to get drunk. Losing my child has been hard, it's been a struggle I am yet to conquer, if how I also don't know. I've never been able to handle pain easily, for me reality strikes after some time... let's just say I react in a much later stage to pain or trauma. Yes, she was gone but I didn't want to accept it at first and I can't say that I've accepted it now because I haven't still but I'm taking it one day at a time... I've been drinking to ease the pain and not think about her or remember her but that's stupid because every part of this big house reminds me off her. It's been a month since her funeral and I've been drinking excessively. I'm not coping and neither is Melo. I cannot imagine us surviving this one. We just strangers who sleep on the same bed. She didn't deserve to die. She shouldn't have died. - Yaya

Every young girl dreams of becoming a princess someday, right? Wrong! That wasn't my dream- far from it! I dreamt of a day where, upon reaching my eighteenth birthday, I could finally escape my neglectful "parents" who only acknowledged me when it suited them. But all that changed when I learned my 'parents' had been arrested on drug charges, and an unknown side of my 'family' had been looking for me since before I had even been born. Enter Mr. Castellucci and his seven sons, and I quickly understood why Maria had never mentioned a previous marriage or her other 'children.' These men were not the dashing princes riding white horses; they were dark, imposing, and intimidating figures. And Mr. Castellucci was determined to take me back with him to his lavish home somewhere in Italy -so far from my comparatively uncomplicated life in New Haven, Connecticut - and begin building my new life there with them. Although wary that these men had a more nefarious and sinister reason for taking a sudden interest in me than being a 'long-lost family member', they were doing an excellent job of easing me into a false sense of security by treating me like their long-awaited 'Principessa'. Desperate for their love and approval, while struggling with my inadequacies and haunted past, I was naïvely unaware of their ruthless nature and sheer power. I did not realise the scope of their 'charm' until it was too late. Far too late. Until I was precisely where they wanted me: under their thumb and control, with no prospects of ever escaping them as Maria had done before me, I was nothing more than a bird locked in a gilded cage, that they had deviously led me to believe was the price of love and safety. Let it be said once and for all: The Italian mafia did not ask; they took what they deemed as theirs to take. And I was THEIRS. _______________ This is my dark, twisted take on the popular Mafia, Older Brothers/Younger Sister, and Lost/Found Daughter/Sister tropes.
