Valkyrie and her brother Einer are of Norse descent, but after a group of saxons raided their village they were taken as slaves and were forced to live in England with an ex-shield maiden who served the king after being captured. They are the children of the renowned Torehilde and the god Loki. Years later Ragnar and his sons come to England to raid and kill. That is when the twins will meet them and reunite with their uncle Floki.
