Her family is dead.

Rose's world is split in two, separated by a Border that no Human ever dares to cross. The Monsters on the other side, however, don't seem to mind too much as they ravage the Human lands for all the food and supplies they've got.  
Until one night, Rose comes across a Monster dying before her very eyes and she has to decide whether to help a creature she has always been taught to hate or to let him die and break her promise to never let anyone die if she can help it.

Her choice thrusts her into a whole new world, full of fear and beauty and love.
