Title in Progress. Sometimes, life can't go your way. Not that it won't, it just can't. My family--all of them--know this, either second or first hand. Unlike those earthlings down in their fantasy world of guessing and hoping, we're stuck up here living it. Yes, we get mystical powers, yes we have enough peace to save the universe, and yes, us aliens use more than ten percent of our brains. And don't forget the fact we live far longer and are beautiful. If you're convinced our lives are increasingly perfect, then maybe we could trade places.
My family...well, we have issues. I don't even know if my parents are alive; either my aunt or her father murdered them brutally, we're not sure yet. If that's not enough, how about you listen to our fantastical tale about said aunt trying to murder us so she can have the throne that she was supposed to get in the past, or maybe we could go into detail about how said grandfather is part of a rebellion--Shos--and is trying to wage war other planets nearby our solar system.
We know about you, and you will never know about us. At least, not until they decides the time worthy.

The Silent Sister by Orphic_bae
34 parts Ongoing Mature
Alessandra has never believed in safety. Life never gave her a reason to. Pain carved her childhood, silence became her armor, and trust? That was a luxury she could never afford. So when she runs -- bloody, broken, and barely breathing, she doesn't expect saving. She certainly doesn't expect to be taken in by a family dripping in wealth and power and. . . warmth? A mother who refuses to give up on her. A father who watches like he's waiting for her to let him in. And six brothers. Rough. Protective. Complicated. Brothers, who don't know what to do with a sister who won't speak. She doesn't know how to trust. How to believe that maybe not everyone wants to hurt her. Every instinct tells her to run. To shut down. But they don't let her go. Not when she flinches. Not when she hides. Not even when she breaks. Happiness is for other people, or that's what she believes. But when love comes wrapped in gentle patience and fierce protection, when hands reach for her without demand, when hearts break themselves wide open just to hold her... she starts to wonder. Can a girl stitched together with silence and fear ever belong in a family built on love? Can she stand tall when the ghosts of her past refuse to let go? And when danger claws its way back into her life, threatening everything she's come to know... will she find her voice, or will she shatter all over again? Trigger Warnings: Child abuse. Violence. Addiction. Panic attacks. Self-harm. Death, and more.

They were her sentinels, her saviors, the reason that she refuses to let her past consume her. 𝐆𝐈𝐔𝐋𝐈𝐀 𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐎, a young girl who's never known stability. Raised by a reckless, unstable mother, she spent her childhood caught between drug runs and police raids, ruining her right for a normal childhood. One night when her mother goes missing, Giulia's whole life changes... again. Will being under the guardianship of her new older brothers give her a chance at normalcy in her life or will they cause even more mess than before? Healing isn't easy and trust doesn't come free. ☆ ☆ ☆ As I lied there in the hospital bed with a pounding headache, practically suffocating me while barely conscious, I heard that familiar, raspy, deep, sleep deprived voice that I've recently come to find comfort in. "Nessuno oserà toccarti di nuovo senza perdere le mani, amore," they whispered. (No one will dare touch you again without losing their hands, love.) I felt two hands hold my face with a soft kiss on my forehead. Their rough and large hands a contrast to their gentleness. The comforter over me shuffled as the familiar person brought them up to my chin and tucked me in. "Riposati ora sei al sicuro, bambina," they murmured, stroking my hair. Before I knew it, simply the presence of them reassured me as I felt myself drift off again into a deep sleep. (Rest now, you're safe, baby). ☆ ☆ ☆ 𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐄 (noun): a state of being pleasantly lost in one's thoughts; a daydream.

But they always return to her like an endless chapter of nightmares. "You know who you are and you can't escape from your fate. Why don't you just accept it?" Fate. Destiny. She hated those words. She's tired of losing people, tired of not being strong enough to protect them. She and her younger brother are both tied with twisted fates. Will she be able to overcome them? "Your parents... they're alive." That was it. She couldn't take jokes about these. Not until when her adopted guardian, dr. Elrod was attacked by demons. Demons from her world, from her dimension, from her empire. That was enough to make her snap and return to being who she was, the knight of despair, of the cursed element, black flame. Her best friend was the wielder of white flame. But in the cruel destiny, it was written that they would have to kill each other. None can survive while the other lives. But reality hit hard her hard, her one and only friend died, protecting her. "I hope you win the war you tell no one about." he turned to leave and added, "Our destiny is not written for us, but by us after all." His words made her hopeful like a kid again. But what is with all the fame and name if she's so weak that she can't even protect the ones she loves? Will she... find happiness? Are her parents alive? Will she be able to protect her brother, her first and foremost, sole aim?
