In the land of Mire, there are four main races, the Humans, the Elves, the Dwarves and the Dragonkin but there is a fifth...the Dark Elves, Elves that have been overpowered by the magic that flows through all Elves. As a result they are born with greyish skin and red eyes. They are treated as the dregs of society but a woman raises amongst them, a Dark Elf with magic that's powerful even by Elvish standards, and with a dark hate for all other races for the pain and humiliation that her kind are forced to bare. Out of rage she forms an army with the intent to make all other races suffer but when she meets a young Elf will the flames of hatred die down or is she too far gone...
This book is gxg and fantasy if you don't like either of those than don't read

If anything, Compass is a testament to the ability for all races to come together. Reaching for the North Star, Polaris itself, with each other. A child born from the union between human and elf, in the comforts of high society, finds herself dissatisfied with this vision of Compass. To her, the city speaks in a different tongue, one that does not follow the illusion surrounding it. People do not live together; they merely exist parallel to the other person. She has lived her life hiding from the eyes of society, alone in a house of nobility. Years passed in her life, years full of shame, grief, and loneliness. Yet all good things must come to an end, at eighteen years of age, far younger than the elven youth trained by the girl's adoptive father she is told that there is no more that they can teach her and she must now leave and make her way in the human world. Now she must embark on living in the human world that she never knew leaving behind the only life, the only people she's ever known. Just what is Jessa going to do now and how is she going to fit into this world, when she never fit into the world she's leaving behind?Complete

The fire elves are a very old species, dating back to the time of The Great War, centuries ago. Elves are distant descendants of the Goddess of Elements, The First Elf. She had four aspects, corresponding to each of the four elements. She gave her elemental powers to her kin, elves and humans and many other monsters. They were Demi-immortal, only to be killed by deliberate intent. They have familiars, linked to their very souls, which they bond with using an ancient ceremony. Elementals, the children of elves after centuries of descent. Humans are the most common species, and are generally magicless. Humans with magic are called mages . Elves are very rare, as all elves went into hiding after the Great War between the gods centuries ago. Occasionally and elf would leave home and into the world, but no fire elf has ever left their home and had children living on the mainland so there are no fire elementals. Fire elves have a bond with the dragons who's volcanoes and islands they shared, a bond that would last generations. In the current day, there is one tribe remaining: the Ryoko Tribe. The name meant "woman who is like the dragon," a fitting name for a tribe led by a head woman. This woman was lady Hyria Tatsu, the eldest of the tribe. Her apprentice goes by the name of Mina Ryoto. Star and Moon, two dragonets, would only bond with Mina. None of the other children were able to bond with the two dragonets. This was one of the reasons Hyria had chosen Mina. Only those of great legends could bond with two beasts. It would be a hard road for her, but being this special could turn out for the best. The world might depend on her one day.Complete
