[set in the third season] "That's okay, Zach," I replied as I glanced over at my brother, "We all die someday." --- It was Kayla Easton's 21st birthday on the day the world as everyone knew it came to a brutal, hellish end. Her parents are gone, and all she has left in the world is her older brother, Zach, her best friend, Jessie, Tina the grocery store cashier, and Danny, a random farm boy from her hometown. Now almost 23, Kayla has formed a new family with her crew, and they have thrived through survival, becoming almost unstoppable in combat. Now, the group of five has their sights on something golden; a safe, locked down, heavy duty prison. There's only one problem... it's already inhabited. But, the chance is just too good to pass up. So, when Kayla and her crew prove their worth to Rick and his skeptical group, they're given the chance to be part of something bigger... and a certain someone begins to take interest in Kayla. Big changes begin to unfold as the two groups intertwine... and nothing will ever be the same again.

***Currently editing*** How many hours are in a day when you don't spend half of them watching television? When is the last time any of us really worked to get something we wanted? How long has it been since any of us really needed something that we wanted? The world we knew is gone. The world of commerce and frivolous necessity has been replaced by a world of survival and responsibility. An epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has swept the globe causing the dead to rise and feed on the living, in a matter of month's society has crumbled. No government, No grocery stores, No mail delivery, No cable TV. In a world ruled by the dead, we are forced to finally start living.
