However, when Matthew was finally allowed to go to public school instead of getting homeschooled, he made a friend named Gilbert Beilschmidt. As time progressed, they became best friends, and then eventually, a little more. Alfred just watched as his brother was slowly being taken from him. He wouldn't let this happen. He couldn't.
