My dream was always to go to California, and travel. I have seen so many movies about these beautiful girls with perfect bodies and boyfriends who wore their caps backwards and wore muscle tops. I have always wanted that. I don't have that because I live in England, I don't tan, I am single (never had a boyfriend) and my mum won't let me go anywhere. I have a very boring life. Let me introduce myself, my name is Holly and I am seventeen years old.  I live in the south of England with my Mum, Dad, disabeld sister and my one-eyed hamster. I go to a public school, I'm not really popular and only have a couple friends. Dedication to CameAsIAm. For being a great friend, and helping me with this book. I love you very much xxxx

Her overbearing father won't even let her choose what instrument she plays. Then she finds herself alone at a party with Ren, her best friend's crush. She'd always thought he was rude, but after that night he's all Ella can think about. Now she's trapped. If Ella dates Ren, it will ruin her friendship with Jenny. But if she stays true to Jenny, she's losing the one person who can see past her scars. It's up to Ella to decide if she will forge her own path, or stay in the "perfect" box designed for her...
