White Lies

His mother died at age twenty-four, leaving him and his dad alone. He was 5 at the time. It left a harsh tension inside the home, slowly building higher and higher until it broke.

That's when it happened.

As he grew older, Chase Detrick cradled the little time away each day from his broken home. The walls held a long lasting darkness; a confusing anger.

In drunken rage, the anniversary of his mother's death, his farther kiddnaps a highschool student named Owen.

Guilt makes Chase do unexplainable things to reach out to him. Careful planning, dangerous contact, and a strange need to know just a little bit more about the boy.
