"I know about things I shouldn't... and all because this world is a dark place. This is the dark world. You might wanna get used to it."

After World War IV, monsters appeared. No one knew what they were, or where they came from.

Fight or flight kicked in.

Humans chose to fight.

In response, the monsters did the same.

In the year 2466, Maximus Shackles, an Ervine in high school near Zimbabwe, Africa, is forced to go to the United States, where there are no fences or laws to keep him from being killed by humans. As he and his best friend, Rohn Ashford, explore the region they are forced to live in, they stumble across two unlikely allies:

Lionblaze Blayze and Sawyer Brock.

As these four embark on a journey to survive, they find something much bigger than their own lives:

A family.

While this family grows and the world starts to come back to order, new enemies and trials threaten to tear them apart. After all: nothing can ever stay the same for long.
