I often forget this, but I aced my poetry-writing class in college. I actually took the class with the hope it would teach me how to help my brother with his own poetry, as well as how to understand poetry better. The teacher said I have a very good ear for rhyme and meter. I had to look up what he was talking about.

He also admitted that, if I hadn't been so open and happy in class, my poetry would've worried him.

I'll go for a few years completely forgetting I've even written poetry, then suddenly remember, "Hey, wait!" Like for a friend's wedding, when I forgot to write a card. I came up with a poem in 15 minutes. I don't have a copy now, though I remember the first two lines and the gist.

So let's pull out the old poetry and maybe add some new, and maybe we'll all pull something out of it.

It wasn't necessarily the way that he would talk, even though have of the time I had to ask him what he meant. It wasn't even the way that he would try to tease me about my height even though he wasn't all that tall himself. Maybe it was the way that he would chuckle under his breath when he had to explain something to me (more than once I might add) Or maybe it was the way that he would go out of his way to meet up with me in the hallways right before my algebra class just so we could hear how the others day was going (which almost made us late to class on numerous occasions) Or maybe it was even the way that he would compliment me on the rare occasion (He had told me once that I looked beautiful with glasses even though I hated them and preferred my contacts more) It could've even been the fact that when he spotted me in the hallways and would leave his friends just to come and talk to me. Even though I would point out the fact that he left his friends, he would just smile and chuckle which would cause a blush to creep up onto my features. All I knew at the time was that I was falling in love with one of the smartest people I had known. I prayed that by some miracle the feelings would go away, even though I knew they wouldn't. After graduation, it would be a long time before we crash into each other again. If I would've known that I would find him again in the future, I would've prepared myself better. But as I stood there, staring into those blue eyes of his, I knew that I had fallen in love with him all over again. ((Also none of the pictures are mine, all credit goes to the original artists))

(I wrote this when I was thirteen so read at your own risk since I had no idea where I was going.) Before everything got out of hand, confusing, exiting, heartbreaking and wild like a football match. Life was unbearable but this is how it started..... It was just ordinary day in school. My first day back now in my senior year before I head off to college. The last class was English one of my favourite subjects. Half way through the teacher left us to go to the office after a phone call had been dialled. I was tapped on the shoulder by a girl behind me with everyone staring at me with no expressions at all. She had a note in her hand folded up perfectly to be origami. I took the note and unfolded it leaving the flawless fold even. I read the note in my head as I let it fall out of my hands, hitting the desk in complete silent. "Frances May, I like you."
