Every werewolf has a human and a wolf name and one one of two types of shifts: Shift and Second Skin. Regular shifts require for the werewolf to strip beforehand while Second Skin werewolves, well, their shift is like a second skin. They can shift at will, clothed or not.

Lilliana Violet Aldaine, also known as Alpha Shadow, seems like your average every day eighteen-year-old girl, but when humans see her they bow their heads and walk away. Mothers shield their children's eyes and get as much distance between them as possible. First of all, she's a werewolf; that fact was taxing enough. To make things worse, she has amber eyes. Finally, she's going to Kingsridge Prep, an academy where all walks of life were able to learn. Any race from humans to elves and dwarves, vampires and werewolves, and countless others. Despite this fact, she was always put down, shoved into lockers, and had nasty notes taped to her locker. No matter where she turned on campus, one word rang out: Freak. Imagine the toll that could take on you.

Having just recently turned eighteen, she was to bond with a mate. Normally mates were found before the age of eighteen, then bonded when they became adults. For her, her case was different. No one wanted to be seen with her. It wasn't until one day that Tyler Rhodes, the most popular guy at the academy and the starting quarterback on their football team, assured her that he was her mate. All the while Lucas Parker, also known as Goth Boy, saved her from a rogue wolf that caught her off guard. Both times she felt like something clicked, but she didn't know which one to follow.

In the end she knew she would have to choose, but one choice would only lead to her downfall. The fate of her pack rested in her hands (and paws). Will her choice give her the perfect mate? Or will it result in corruption due to a traitor?
