The moment we get our papers I feel a tap on my shoulder. "What's the answer to question one?" It's Jack. As usual, he doesn't know what it's about. "You need a tutor. I won't always be around to tell you the answer." "Then you should be my tutor." "What?" "I'll be your tutor!" The girls sitting next to Jack says. "No thanks, I already have a tutor." Jack turns her down. She looks mad and murmurs "stupid, geeky, emo, bitch." Obviously, she means me. I hear it all the time. It doesn't phase. Bullies target me all the time. I'm fine. "So, Lizzie, want to be my tutor?" Jack asks me. "Sure." I agree. Lizzie Shelly, your average tomboy skater girl from a 5,000 population town. Tends to spend her weekends at the skate park with her twin brother and her friends. But she has a secret, she likes Jack. Jack Avallone, the hottest guy in school, loved by all the girls in the entire 11th grade. But he doesn't like them. He likes the skater girl. He likes Lizzie. She sits in front of him in American History. Together, they'll learn about each other and what it's like to be a skater and a pretty boy.

Josephine Pryce will do anything to get out of Lakeville even if it means simply tutoring her arch-nemesis Flynn Cauley. Except when it comes to him, things aren't always simple. *** Jo and Flynn couldn't be any more different than they already are. She's an uptight, type 1 diabetic and captain of the debate club and he's a notorious womanizer with a devil-may-care attitude and seemingly nothing to worry about. But now he needs help with English and she needs money for college. So regardless of the existent feud between them, she accepts to be his tutor in her school's online peer-tutorship program. But things aren't that straightforward when it comes to him. A misconception and desperation later, they decide to become a fake unlikely couple, solely because Flynn needs to make his crush jealous and Jo needs her ex to understand that it's over. Besides, she's partly in love with the hot, gentlemanly school paper president and the only way he'll notice her, is if she somehow becomes popular. Everything will be fine as long as they follow the rules. But then again, rules are meant to be broken.
