Spirit of War

In a large cave far beneath the Earth's surface, six god-like creatures argued. Their powerful voices echoed off the walls of the cave, nearly shaking the glittering gems embedded in the dull rock that surrounded them. A few yards away from them sat a crystalline pool, reflecting the light given off by the gems. This protective cavern the creatures knew as the Cave of Reflection had been the birthplace of the powers. Millennia ago they had emerged from the Pool of Reflection, so aptly named, one by one, until six spirits appeared in the cave. They brought with them a sympathetic power, one that bestowed humans with the gift of emotion, though the mortals never knew where their feelings came from. Those who did know of them called them spirits.

Jem's world is one ruled by spirits. As she trains to be a full fledged guardian alongside her best friend, Celeste, the spirits keep her identity a secret. With mounting tension as mirages manipulate emotions in the human world, the spirits decide it is finally time to tell Jem who she really is. The mythical seventh spirit must save the guardians and spirits before it's too late. But the enemy is already closer than any of them realized.
