He was supposed to be a sacrifice to Jashin when he was still a baby. Instead of killing him though, Jashin made Makkuro his son and the sword saint of the Demonic Realm.
But the other demons under Jashin's control didn't like how much of their master's favor this mere human was garnering. Infighting and animosity grew within their ranks and Jashin had no other option left but to send his loyal son into the world of mortals.
But that is only the beginning of Makkuro's story.
