Peace was a façade.

Peace, defined as a state of tranquility or quiet, was a word sloppily plastered on to the face of the Pokémon World.

Peace is a lie, just as everything else on this miserable planet.

Mystery Dungeons multiply, legendary Pokémon abandon their guardianship over the Territories, and Pokémon fatalities increase exponentially under this deceptive word, "Peace".

The heroes of the Territories have conquered their foes, reigning above all others with a glorious title. Their exploits of defeating otherworldly foes granted them a status so high, turmoil never reaches their ears. They're either so mighty that the cries for help fall of deaf ears, or their assassins have planted them deep within the soil.

Nia's eyes are not strong enough to see truth. Her life started the instant she found herself bound to a tree in the middle of an unrecognizable forest, armed only with her name and extensive knowledge on any Pokémon she could fathom.

As the Pokémon of Deception, her journey is plagued with prejudice and stereotypes. Tasked with a hopeless fate, her path is not an easy one, but she must atone for her past. She must quell the demons inside her.

Her destiny is one for her to travel alone, and a lonely one it is indeed.

To Steal the Heart of a Thief {Pokemon Ranger Fanfiction} (Pokemon Watty Awards 2015) by Serena-Daniels
40 parts Complete
As I write this letter to you, all I have to say is... I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I lied to all three of you. Living a life of lies has taught me that it comes with a price, and now I'm paying it. My name IS Rena Deveraux; that wasn't a lie. But I never wanted to be a Ranger... That's not why I was at the Ranger School. I am so, so sorry that I lied to you, but the truth is... I'm a thief. And you...you were my assignment, and I was to think of you as nothing more than that. It wasn't personal, I promise you. It was just business. I thought I could outrun the law my whole life and never get caught. Never did I once think that the law applied to me, or that my actions would catch up to me one day. It never crossed my mind...not even once. I was so confident, which made my downfall inevitable. I left my back turned for one second and I lost it all. No words can describe the feeling I get when I look at your face... That look of pain, and sadness... Your eyes are filled with nothing but hate and disdain when they meet my gaze. Honestly, I'm surprised that you haven't killed me for what I've done to you. I'm afraid this is the end, and I will never see you again. You can hate me for the rest of your life. I understand... What I did to you is unforgivable, and I don't deserve your forgiveness. I don't deserve to see your smile ever again. My biggest regret is that I will never get to properly say good-bye to you. So, I must do it in this letter. Good-bye, my Prince Charming. I will never forget you. Take care of Rhythimi and Isaac for me, and please...apologize to them on my behalf, since I can't do it myself. Oh, and one more thing, Keith. Assuming that you didn't just tear this letter up upon receiving it, I just wanted to say... I've told you a lot of lies since the moment we first met... But my feelings for you were never one of them. {Pokémon Ranger Shadows of Almia fanfiction; cover art was just photoshopped by me}

"Because you are not like the rest of us. You are different, therefore able to do things us Pokémon cannot." "I don't understand," he insisted. "In time you will, but for now, we must end this here." Arceus closed his eyes. Slowly everything faded to black. "Good luck, Kyle. Grant my wish." ________________________________ Tremors rattle the earth. Clouds roll over the hills, cover all light -- until a little shooting star breaks through the dark: now all light is blotted out except one tiny glow far, far away. There, a young man wakes up to find his world has... Changed. Kyle had lived alongside pokemon all his life, and always longed to form stronger and deeper bonds with them with each passing moment. He did not, however, expect it to be in such a personal level: now having become a pokemon himself overnight, Kyle must embark on a search for answers in a world where only pokemon exist, and rediscover himself and his past -- all while trying to rid the earth from the unspeakable evil which threatens to consume it whole. A burden on his shoulders and a strange adaptation period ahead of him, can young Kyle still prove himself worthy of this quest? Can he discover the true meaning of his existence in the mystery dungeon world and unearth the secret to victory?
