Crash. I awoke from my sleep, the sound of glass breaking making me confused and curious. "Dad? There was no reply. I got up out of my bed and into the hallway. I heard muffling and the sound of more things breaking. I heard a scream. Oh no. "DAD!" I ran down the stairs in panic, freezing as I saw my father's dead body. The door caught my eye as I saw the shadow of someone leaving. I ran to the door and looked outside, greeted with only the bright crescent moon and hint of lavender. There were no flowers around on this winter night. A tear slid down my face everything hitting me at once. I turned around quickly, my father's blood rapidly spreading across the floor. My tears came faster until I was just sobbing. I picked up the house phone, my hand trembling as I dialed 911. I couldn't stop crying at the sight of my dad losing his life. I knew that the police would not arrive on time to save him and as I painfully told them what happened and my address, the only thing that was on my mind, was revenge. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My name is Emily Prescott, I am 18 years old. I was 6 years old when my father died and ever since, the only thing that has been on my mind is finding the killer and making him pay for his crime. My mother had died giving birth to me so I had to go to an orphanage. Sooner than later I was going to get kicked out because I was considered an adult now until one day a letter came in the mail with my name on it. Dear Emily, Congratulations! We are pleased to inform you that you have been invited to Hunter Academy. We are a criminal justice school and help our students control and focus their ability to use only for good. The address is on the attached paper and also the day that you start attending. Sincerely, Hunter Academy I looked at the paper in excitement, my eyes finding their way back to the words 'criminal justice'. Emily knew that she would finally find her father's murderer, even if it did involve a little bit of blood.

Mate Pull

Bang! I sat bolt upright. Did I imagine that? That noise? What was it? I clambered out of bed and almost fell down the stairs with the panic that had set in. My front door was wide open but nobody was there, the wood was just swinging in the doorway allowing the cool breeze in my house. What if somebody was already inside? I hopped over the living room sofa, to climb the stairs yet again and as I made it to the landing I was thrown into the wall. My body pinned against it with a muscled form shadowing mine. A hand placed over my mouth silenced my screams that I was too scared to let out anyway. "I'm not going to hurt you. Just don't scream." It was Colton. His husky voice was a distinct reminder that he was my mate. The tingles that spread through my body made me hate but love the entire situation. I want him closer. "You don't run away from me, understand?" I nodded, he was really close to me and my wolf purred for him to be closer. I pushed the thoughts to the back of my mind as he slowly removed his hand. "What do you want?" I demanded, making the futile attempt to shove him away though he didn't move an inch. "I want what is mine." He replied with a low growl that sent chills up my spine. My back was still pressed firmly against the wall and I think I was in shock to move. Though I felt safe which made me feel sick, how could I be safe in the presence of him? "No." I walked downstairs and into the kitchen. "No?" He repeated my words back to me and I boiled the kettle for a cup of tea. My mum said tea fixes everything, then again it never fixed her relationship. "You heard me." "I heard you clear. I'm just making sure you're happy with that answer before I make you regret it." Colton advanced forward, pure dread taking over my body at the size of him compared to me. He leaned forward so his lips were against my ear and with a soft tone he whispered. "Are you happy with that answer?"
