Being the spawn of the primordial embodiment of darkness and chaos does something to a kid growing up. I was left on St.Arthurs Orphanage for the unacquainted. I was an outcast even among the other orphans, most sensed something about me, that didn't sit well with them. My only friend was a half elf girl named Aleru. She wasn't put off by my strange aura or ominous glowing right eye. She protected me in my youth against the other children and we've been together ever since. I was now 18, living throughout the continent as a sort of investigator of sorts. Doing the odd jobs here and there. Missing persons, Demonic cleansings, Monster hunts. You name it. The wolves to the North and the vampires to the south, were in a constant struggle with each other. Threatening the capital which was stuck in the middle of both sides attacks. I had recurring nightmares, fighting a shapeless being of pure chaos. Usually ending with my death. But I was determined to keep that from coming to pass making enemies and allies along the way. On my way to defeat the King of Darkness. My Father. This is my 8th story. Which the roots of the plot and elements stem from my thoughts of many different media's. Book 1 of The Shadow Series. Myths, that's what the humans called it, but for Ashe it quickly became her reality. Her life changing transformation narrowed her paths down to two; She could either embrace her fates and save the people she's grown to love, or she can walk away and live a somewhat normal life while others suffer the consequences. How far is she willing to go to create peace where there's never been any? Will she even create peace? Or will she help encourage the most brutal war the Shadow Realms have ever experienced? Several years of Asheland's childhood had disappeared from her memory. She assumed it was her brain trying to protect her from a traumatic event, although that's true it's not exactly what she expected and her brain wasn't necessarily the cause. After being homeless until she was sixteen years old, then living in a boat dock for four years, she had finally found her home in a cottage in the near-by mountains of Wolf Creek. Everything seemed to be going well. However, as a list of secrets begin unraveling when Ashe gives in to her overwhelming urges to visit the island that terrified almost every citizen in Wolf Creek, her life becomes more complicated than she could've ever imagined. All of this just because she was turning twenty-one. Nothing was as it had ever seemed. * excerpt from the book * { "Why do you make such reckless, impulsive decisions?" The old man asked as we watched the moon. "The world could end tomorrow and everyone expects me to live in fear today? There's no life to live inside the box of fear, there's no freedom in there," I replied softly. }
