When you are sent away from home to go somewhere it's exciting, thrilling even. But to Toa who has just been given the sentence of a lifetime to live out the remainder of her life on mars, it's a shocking reminder of who she is and what she cannot leave behind on earth. As Toa invents a new way of life on mars she encounters new discoveries and bonds with people from places she didn't know existed. But slowly as the science experiment begins to fail, hearts are broken and bonds are snapped forever. And the man that is in charge of it all infuriates Toa but she can't seem to stay away from him. But they need to find a way to leave mars and find somewhere where they can all survive. As they realise that Earth was never home for them.
