The first book in the Veronica Marshall Series.
    Veronica Marshall is your average run of the mill twenty-five year old woman. Except that she is a manager for a blood donor clinic that sells blood to vampires. She knows how to identify them in the crowd, how to deal with them and how to make the business work in a world that controls the way vampires interact with humans. All of that changes when a vampire enters the clinic demanding to know the donor details of one of the bags he has purchased.
    
    The world that she knew collapses, the man that she thought she knew, that she thought loved her has been hiding some very big secrets. Led down a very dark path by these secrets, Veronica must find out what he's been up to behind her back to save a group of vampires from being wrongfully punished for violating laws designed to protect humans and to save herself from being accused of something she didn't do.
    
    In her quest for the truth, she learns that not every one is a friend, not everyone can be trusted and sometimes the enemy isn't always the bad guy. Sometimes being the good guy isn't all that it's cracked up to be.
