The Way household is a peculiar bunch for a family, but then again, most everyone's families here in Jersey are a bit whacky.
When you live in a boring city, house parties are the norm. Gerard Way, an eighteen year old recluse who lives in the basement with his younger brother Mikey Way, decides to throw a get together now that their mom is out of town. Booze, blasted Punk music, and a house full of strangers; what could possibly go wrong?
Mikey decides to go on a late night drive with his best friend Frank. Within an hour, Mikey is dead and the rear end of Frank's car is smashed in. It's safe to say this is the worst start any school year in history. Everyone in the gang is acting completely off, and it's clear that things will never be the same again.
With the teens spiraling downwards, Frank's new-born supernatural abilities are definitely not helping, linking Frank to the Underworld where the dead roam amongst other corpses.
This is the story of a couple of teenagers from New Jersey, messing with black magic, while attempting to save a reckless ghost; secretly saving the world from vampires and ghosts isn't so easy to do while trying to graduate high school.
This is their Deathwish.

They were murdered, they were attacked and now they're dead. That's all Frank knows about his parents - gone before he'd even had chance to miss them, and it was fucking with his head. The police reckoned that moving away, to rural New Jersey with his grandparents would help him cope with the loss, but even Frank knew that they couldn't be more than wrong, because despite the dull sleepy atmosphere of the town, there was something unidentifiable yet impossibly unnerving about the place, and really, perhaps was safer in his parents home than he ever was here. And there's something physically wrong too - a figure that lurks in the smoke, fog, and shadows - a silhouette the deepest black he'd ever seen, the kind that brought an unsettling feeling to Frank's stomach, and really Frank's wasn't one to be overly twitchy about things like this, but from the moment he first met him, he could never shake the feeling that the figure was always following him. A quiet town, a closed case and a group of idiot teenagers. Frank Iero: A naive dickhead who will 100% deny the fact that he is either. His type seems to be people who hit him with their friend's cars, fuck knows why. Gerard Way: Legally dead. Other than that he's a sweetheart. (Minus the occasional murder.) Mikey Way: First saw a corpse at the ripe age of thirteen when he broke into a morgue, it is yet to have any major impact on him but it probably will later. Ray Toro: Accompanied Mikey in breaking into previously mentioned morgue. It's safe to assume that he is reasonably more traumatised.

Gerard was in town to visit his brother Mikey like any normal good brother would do, but things turn out to be a bit complicated when he 'accidentally' kills his brother's friend, and it gets even more complicated when that friend doesn't stay dead for long. Things seem complex now but it gets even worse when Gerard is haunted down by a bitter ex boyfriend and a powerful demon, how will he manage to survive all that? But Gerard is older and sort of world's away from Frank's league: he's like Lindsey Ballato - unobtainable and godly, and most definitely a member of the elite sex club that Frank reckons Lindsey's involved in.
