In a world much like our own, everything played out as written in the history books. Rome collapsed. The French revolted. The Americas were colonized. However, during the peak of the industrial revolution, a world changing event shook the pen of history - The Great Merge.

In England, the sight known as Stone Henge opened an ethereal gateway, unleashing every conceivable Pandora's Box of mythology. Creatures, monsters, and beings from a myriad of mythologies, tales, and folklore roamed Western Europe, taking the mortal world as their own. Gods and goddesses drew their lines and claimed what they could take, crushing any mortal men that dared to question their reign.

After an inter-being war ensued, spanning the globe and having more casualties than any other previous or present war known to mankind, the lines had been drawn in blood.

Western Europe was taken by the Neo-beings, leaving the Americas, Russia, Asia, and the rest of the world to pick up the pieces of the bloodshed. The United Kingdom was taken as King Arthur's new Camelot. The Netherlands, Sweden, and Norway were seized by the Norse gods. Italy and Rome were taken by the Roman gods, and the Greek gods claimed mount Olympus in Greece. The lands and countries in between were free for the taking. They could either submit to any of the four ruling districts, or be crushed under their feet.

This story begins in Arthur's France, a nation plunged into a medieval era. We follow a Neo-being on the run, in hopes of arriving to America, but she will not be let go without resistance.

"So if we don't get there soon, we lose, right? We lose Merlin and Hera will end the world?" "Camelot will end, Greece will end... Even your own world will be gone." 'You knights are our only hope.' Luna's signing really sold it. If they didn't stop Hera soon, the whole world would end. "Alright. What do we have to do?" ********** As far as the world knows, Camelot and ancient Greece never conflicted. Never associated, never spoke, never interacted. In fact, it would be safe to say that the two worlds didn't even exist at the same time. Until they do. An untold story that changes every story you've ever known. The Knights of Camelot rule as kings and queens, the first since the death of the legendary King Arthur. Sharing the duties among the six of them and under the guidance of the warlock, Merlin, these teenagers travel between Camelot and the modern world, the first time travelers, to protect the land they've adopted as their own. The Goddlets are used to living in a world of their own. As the children of the gods, they are used to getting away with whatever they want. Not used to many changes in their quiet world, they aren't prepared for what comes next. When the Knights and the Goddlets are called together on a quest to save Merlin from the clutches of Hera, the queen of the Greek gods, two very different worlds collide in a race against the clock to save the world. With limited time at their hands and everything they know and love at stake, the Knights and the Goddlets team up to put an end to Hera's destructive reign. The worlds of Camelot and ancient Greece collide in this action-packed book. Classic characters meet new faces in a complete retelling of universes people both know and love. {Entered in the Open Novella Contest under prompt 83: "This assignment requires us to act like adults. Children of Adaygue Book 1: Mad World by chaosgoettin
18 parts Ongoing Mature
Book One. It's a strange, even mad world indeed. A world where magic once long ago filled the air, and was felt within everything, until humanity explored it's potential for power, destruction, and war. And with it came the true nature of it: Chaos, the source of magic. It nearly ripped apart creation, and thus, some legendary hero took sealed it away to protect the creation from destruction- Adaygue, Great Mother to everyone. She became the deity to protect magic, and her followers called herself "Children of Adaygue". 3135 years later, after countless of wars, magic flickers and loses its meaning. But the people "blessed by Adaygue" face segregation, racism, and exploitation from the countries they live in. The story revolves around a group of people from all over the world: Madleine and Marik Winterfeldt, siblings by choice and Gene, a young noble living in the old Holy Empire of German Nation, a nation riddled with magical infested rifts as literal scars of war, and in continuesly danger of being at war again with it's powerful neigbour, The Holy French Empire of the Sun. On the other side of the planet, in the United Kingdom of America, magic abled people have more possibility to work with their "blessing", if it is viewed more useful. This means to fight against giant beasts from faultlines, that have strange connections to rifts. There is a band of people quite successful with it and one in particular is celebrated like a popstar: Hades, (self-declared) God of the Underworld, trying to survive a world where the only worth a person like him is how much money he generates for the large companies called "guilds". It's a world ruled by chaos. A mad world indeed.
