Its about a young girl named Valyn who is destined to become a Xiaka which is a female warrior who protects and upholds the law on the small island of Jurthera, they are known as the guardians of the land. Xiaka training starts at a young age and is brutal, but Valyn is an orphan and has nowhere else to go. After years of training Vylan becomes the best of her generation and with Jurthera coming out of its isolation, the Xiakas are more useful than ever. Valyn is asked to guard the prince of Jurthera, but she still blames the royal familly for the death of her parents.
