Jameson is a teenager in a world where most people are lucky to live past 30 years.  His village is assaulted nightly by The Turned, walking dead that are infectious right down to their fingernails.  Everyone lives in constant fear of being caught unprotected, and becoming Turned themselves.  But when Jameson is infected, it doesn’t kill him- instead of killing him, the infection forms some sort of symbiosis with him, and for the first time in his life, he doesn’t fear the setting sun.  With his freedom, he finds that he is not the only one who is immune.  He also finds that there are much greater things to fear, and not all of them hide from the sun.All Rights Reserved

Little does Peter realize just how right he is and how Spider-Man will be needed more than ever before. Harry Osborn has been expelled from Midtown High School. The affluent teenager was the one bringing drugs into the school and has been summarily dismissed. It is a source of frustration for Osborn as he had hoped to win back the love of Mary Jane Watson before he graduated from high school. He burns with rage. Now, his rage has led him to embrace the evil philosophies of Zoltan Amadeus. So vile are the pair of entitled businessmen, that they arrange to have Peter Parker's aunt fired from her job.

Hallie Osborn was affected by the explosion, and was one of the few people her age who survived, and is taken into a hospital of sorts for people like her. Finn doesn't remember anything outside of the hospital, the first thing he could remember was the chemical tank. He's not sure why he's put in there so often, but isn't allowed to ask many questions. He's eventually introduced to the rest of the gifted, he explains to Hallie his time in isolation, not understanding how important he's become. The doctors and therapists are keeping many things from the gifted, and with the help of Finn, Hallie's going to figure out what.
