Phil Lester had crutches and a close to zero percent chance of surviving the selection. It was a fact he had accepted when he was young, something that had been engrained into his very being from the day he was born.

 It was Daniel Howell, the boy everyone knew about; the boy who had made out with nearly everyone in his grade; who, unknowingly, kept Phil alive.
