I once read that what you believe in is what you'll get when you die.
But how do we know for sure?
Kelly, a 22 year old, is dead. She doesn't know when, she doesn't know how, she just is. Fortunately, Gabriel, her guardian angel, sticks with her. Trying to help her move on. They come across an accident. That's where they meet Spencer Wright(23). He's basically not dead, but his near death experience gives him the sixth sense. He can now see and hear Kelly's soul. Gaby, on the other hand, is against Kelly and Spencer's friendship. He's trying to lead her onto The Plan that was made for her.
