"Let's face it," he started, walking slowly around the table until he stopped at my side. He laid his palms on the glass and leaned towards me. "You're not exactly good at being a hero."

I smiled and sat back in my chair, resting my hands behind my head. "Yeah, that's kind of what I'm going for."

"And," he continued, "you're not exactly good at being a villain."

The grin fell off my face and my hands fell at my side. If I was trying to be a villain, why was I here then?

"You're exactly who we're looking for."

Through the darkness, the computer screen illuminated the pale skin of Adelae's face around the black mask. Scrolling through the submitted questions, she came across one that made her smile. "Dear Lady Shade," She read aloud to herself. "Why did you choose to be a villain instead of a hero?" She chuckled, shaking her head at the simple, loaded question, before selecting it and opening the page to write a reply. "Hello Blogger KittyStan41. I bet you're expecting the classic tragic backstory in response to this question." she typed. " Dead parents, treated like trash as a kid, and it all came to a choice between rising to defeat my inner demons or succumbing to them. Well, my real answer is possibly something you haven't considered about the world of Heroes and Villains. Answer this for me, what is the goal of a hero? To make the world a better place, perhaps? No, dear KittyStan41. The classic goals of the Hero might seem epic and noble, but in the end it all comes down to stopping the Villain. What kind of life is that, when your only goals derive from the actions of someone else? Your whole life is used up as a preventative measure. Now does that sound like a good way to live? "I chose to be a villain not because I enjoy hurting people, but because I have goals that I plan to achieve. Don't bother asking what they are. If I told you, everyone would know, and people (baby heroes) would get in the way. Then how would I achieve them? I aspire to more. Is there need for a better reason?"
The Starlight Sentinels: The Amusing Story of a Struggling Superhero Team by JGrayDingler

A man, a woman, a boy, a girl, a demon, and an alien, all walk into a bar... THEY FIGHT CRIME! The Starlight Sentinels goes beyond The Watchmen's question of "Who would want to be a superhero?" by asking "Who would want to be a superhero if being a superhero was just another job people needed doing?" The Starlight Sentinels, that's who! They're not your traditional superhero team, and they're not the other guys either, nor are they the grizzled antihero type. Instead, they're just people who happen to work as superheroes in a world where being a superhero isn't so much a call to greatness as it is an eccentric career choice and super villains are just another problem that people try not to think about. Drawing inspiration from films such as Shawn of the Dead and TV series such as the Venture Bros, the Starlight Sentinels was crafted to be an amusing and occasionally action-packed adventure grounded by a diverse cast of humorous but relatable characters. You may laugh at their numerous missteps, but you'll also be cheering for these heroes and heroines hard-earned triumphs as well. Join this comedic costumed cabal in their debut adventure as they fight crime and battle the forces of evil anytime they're not stuck filling out forms for the police, trying to appease their overbearing corporate sponsor, struggling to gain recognition from an apathetic public, or arguing over whose turn it is to do the shopping in this hilarious tongue-in-cheek tale that takes on all things superhero! If you enjoy the first half of The Starlight Sentinels, you can pick up the full book on every major eBook seller, or order a printed copy from Amazon or Createspace.

"let me tell you something, darling. you've unlocked a side of me, even I fear. but since you want to keep me up all night, challenging me, he's gonna show up at some point." Mateo whispers, huskily into my ear, gripping my neck. "what are you talking about?" I whisper. "like how I show no mercy when killing someone. I can also show no mercy in bed. you're not sensitive, so you should be able to take the degrading. right, Tesoro?" he asks, i nod. "you know it's not true though. you know I love and cherish you, beautiful," he says slowly. "right?" "mhm." I nod. Mateo slowly starts speeding up his thumb, on my clit. "right. now I know, my Tesoro isn't so vanilla and innocent. So tell me, love. do you have any kinks?" the question catches me off guard. do I? "ya," I mumble. "I want you to list them," he whispers, I can hear the smirk on his face. "bondage, CNC- shit- dirty talk, uh-um, choking, degrading, stimulation. fuck i can't think," I mumble. "you've said my favourites, but have you ever heard of darcyphilia?" he asks, slowly entering his finger again. "n-no." I stutter. "well, I want to fuck you, overstimulate you, edge you, until you're in tears, chanting your safe word." _________________________________ ⚠️ I WON'T CONSIDER THIS BDSM, BUT IT DOES CONTAIN HEAVY SMUT⚠️ ⚠️ THIS BOOK DOES NOT PROMOTE TEEN PREGNANCY⚠️ ⚠️EVERYTHING OTHER THEN THE MAFIA CULTURE AND RACIAL CULTURES ARE FICTION⚠️ ⚠️ THIS BOOK IS CONSIDERED 18+ BUT IF YOU THINK YOU CAN HANDLE IT... "I can" "Good, what about laundry and cleaning?" I nodded. "Fuck Angel, you're like the perfect woman and you still want me to be your friend" He joked and found myself laughing. "Because I am the perfect housewife?" I asked arching an eyebrow. "No, because you are the perfect combination of smart, beautiful, and skillful." I blushed at that and I wanted to look away but one of his hands stopped me and turned my face towards him. "Get used to hearing compliments because you're going to hear them often in the future. Now, about my offer..." He gave me an expectant look. I thought for a while. I still wasn't sure it was a good idea but I liked working at the shop and still wanted to work there for a little while. "Alright, let's do it," I said. "Now? Here? Damn Angel, first the fiancé thing, and now this. For someone inexperienced, you sure move fast" He joked and I laughed. *Warning ⚠️* Strong language, triggering topics such as body shaming, depression...
