After escaping the Underground with the monsters, Frisk destroys the RESET button promising Sans that she would never RESET again. However, in the process of destroying the RESET button, the power of all her previous resets kills her. In her last dying breath, she asks Sans to find the next person with the same power she had and protect them. Sans reluctantly agreed.
