All her life, Ariana Lucade had lived on the border of the forest, happy and free beneath the reaching branches of the trees that she loved so much. She had always been content with her life exactly the way that it was: she had her mom, her cat, and her forest to keep her company, and she was sure that that was all that she would ever need. Never worrying about the future, never wanting more than what she already had, Ariana spent her days amongst the trees, letting her mind do the wandering while she kept her own feet planted firmly on the ground. That is, until she meets a mysterious stranger one night on a path that never should have been there in the first place. In that one act, Ariana's whole life is thrown into chaos and she's introduced to a world that she never could have imagined existed. Things aren't quite as magical as they seem, though, and Ariana soon finds out that the forest holds much darker secrets than she could have ever dared to dream. This is Book 1 in a 4 part series. Book 2 is ongoing and titled The Atheil Chronicles: A Call to Blood This book has mature scenes and the corresponding chapters toward the end of the book are marked with Trigger Warnings.
