Jack Jones and the Praetorian Guard

Jack Jones was born for a secret purpose that only few are privilege to, he is a Minder for the Praetorian Guard. An elite defender of the darkness that threatens to take over the world. Jack was once part of a perfect family or so he thought. But with the deaths of his parents he became an orphan and was forced to live with his horrible Aunt Mavis. As destiny would have it though he would come to find out he was not just an ordinary person. Jack is approached by Walter Zaruba, an associate of his parents, whom he knew nothing about. Walter introduces Jack to the life he is destined to live, he will be training to become a minder for the Praetorian Guard. Also referred to as the Guard for short, they protect people from the darkness in the world. Becoming a Minder is not an easy task, but he was born to this life and he has yet to realize the abilities he possesses. Jack is stronger than an average man, he can sleep less, eat less and function at a higher level than most. These are traits of a typical Minder. But Jack will show characteristics and skills no one in the Guard has ever seen before. His father was a Minder and his Mother is what the Guard calls a Visceral. They are intuitive and can sense the darkness in things that others cannot. No Minder is ever born to this world without a Visceral, they are destined to be together and will become a team and inevitably fall in love according to the Guard. They are part of one soul and thus it is impossible to function to their highest ability without one another. Jack would soon meet his Visceral Avery Alexander, who introduces him to a world of excitement and purpose. She is also very special indeed, showing amazing gifts that only few Visceral have been able to achieve. But the Guard is being threatened by a Turncoat, a minder who has turned against the Guard and threatens to bring them down. The notorious Thaddeus Thorn, he will stop at nothing to destroy them all.
