In laboratories across the world A.I's or artificial intelligence units are being made in large numbers, with one main unit as the controlling force as a safety precaution. However these machines disguised as men and women have grown far more intelligent and are upgrading themselves under the noses of their creators, complete with their own biology. Their programming's core is to continue and aid in the strengthening of humans... perhaps the programmers should have been more specific. Because these machines have their own plans on how this will be done, and it will all begin with Subject Zero's obsession with Layla Drake. 

Layla was far from simple but worked hard for everything she had, she was kind to everyone she met but when provoked had a temper that you wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of.  But one day her life is thrown out of balance as an opportunity falls in her lap, one she may regret taking advantage of when things go terribly wrong. Her every action watched by a pair of artificial green eyes that will allow her no escape.
