The words rang in Ace's mind like the most ignorant words in all his life. "Well... I don't think it would-" Brainy started, trying to fish herself out of this one. "Yeah, Brains! I've never seen you and Ace interact much," Krypto chirped as well. Brainy's face flushed red... Ace didn't know if from anger or embarrassment, maybe? "You agree, Krypto?" Kiara asked. "I certainly do, Kiara," he answered. It was then the two knew they had no other option than to team up... Just for this one. ------- As a last resort, Ace the Bat-Hound and Brainy Barker are paired up together for an important mission, even though the two secretly dislike and don't trust each other. Brainy loves Krypto, Krypto loves Wonder Woman's dog, Ace loves nobody. They're however obliged to do this together. The war is over, and omegas have never been more valuable. The Galra empire severely dwindled Earth's population, and now omegas were required to have at least one pup with their mate. There came two races with the crystal cracked, the Skeksis and the Mystics. With both races dying, only one could save them. His name was Keith, the last known living Gelfling. He was the chosen one. And he has no clue. NOTE: This takes place in the Dark Crystal universe but still has my own twists to it. I'm basing this story solely off the movie and my own imagination. A few tidbits of knowledge that would make this story make a lil more since are: -This one-shot is only based off the movie, not the comics nor the upcoming (as of 2019) show. -All of the species named here (Gelfling, Skeksis, Mystics, Podlings) are all more humanoid than what is canon in the Dark Crystal movie but you can still image them as you wish. -The Skeksis are the Galra. (The Mystics AREN'T the Alteans though.) Image the Skeksis as more Galra-like or more Skeksis-like, do what fits your imagination. He was prepared to laugh, and instead found himself shivering again as Keith leaned far into his personal bubble, lips practically touching Lance's ear when he spoke next.
