Dharamshala, India, home of the Tibetan community in exile.

2012 was a year in which documented abuses of human rights reached alarming heights within Tibet. At the same time, there were an unprecedented number of self-immolations as individual Tibetans made a fiery protest against the erosion of their language, religion, culture and freedom.

I was there in Dharamshala, India, as the tragic year unfolded. But amazingly, amidst the sadness there was humour, compassion and a determination to continue the Tibetans' non-violent struggle for freedom.

The Yeti in the Library is a testament to the bravery and character of a people in exile, set against the fascinating background of northern India.

You can read the first three chapters here. To read more, buy the book very cheaply via Amazon Kindle, or visit my website www.gillwinterbooks.com

The Yeti in the Library is the sequel to my first book, Between Monks and Monkeys.

She sat looking at the big mirror blushing and thinking about her groom, she didn't even know his name. She eagerly waited for him to come and take her with him to his home, to their home. She was thinking what he would say, what his voice sounded like, what he would call her and how would she react to his actions. The things which she had never imagined in her life about marriage, home, romance, relationship etc., she was thinking about it all today. She hears the door open and she closes her eyes, her head bowed down, cheeks blushed while her chest heaved up and down due to heavy breathing. She hears a voice talking to her from a bit far. She had her back to him. "Hi, Thanks a lot. If you hadn't come, then I would have been on the streets. You really did a good job. The director was impressed with your improvisation though the role was small." She was confused, what is her groom speaking about. She opens her eyes and turns around to see him. Her face falls, it was not her husband. He hands an envelope to her and thanks her before he leaves. She takes the envelope still confused. She thinks - Oh! This must be a wedding gift from his friend. But what was he speaking about, I couldn't understand anything ... Marriage was not on her list but when it happened, it happened in a strange way. Read the book to understand how is this a strange marriage and how would this ever work. *Fictional story Was listed at #1 under SidNaaz on 21st Jan, 2021.. happiest day!! The Librarian and the Fox Princess: a Donghua Dijun and Bai Fengjiu story, V.I by Small_T_Rex
172 parts Complete Mature
This story is about the birth and development of the best friendship between Donghua Dijun and his little fox. In my re-imagined story, I am attempting to give our beloved leads a genuine chance at love with their own thoughts, behaviors, and desires. Granted, life is full of misunderstandings, obstacles and karma. Donghua learns that being a heartless god has its consequences. Having been careless and inconsiderate with the hearts of those who had fawned over him, he'll find it difficult to fulfill his. At its very core, this is a character-driven story about healing from trauma and the growth of a deep and meaningful friendship. It also attempts to explore the coming of age of love and desire for each of them. Those who can't tolerate slow burns should avoid reading this story ;) They meet much later, (she never becomes his maid) and was not involved in the BQ/Su Su/YH situation. Xiao Bai is young and very innocent as this story unfolds. Donghua is arrogant and obtuse, though with more playfulness and tenderness in the style of The Pillow Book. His edges are much softer. There are quite a few characters from the original series. Zhe Yan, Mo Yuan, Bai Zhen, Bai Qian, Ye Hua, Lian Song, Si Ming and Zhong Lin will make appearances, plus others from Eternal Love and ELOD. Lust + desire will play a part of this story so mature themes/content in later chapters. Reader discretion advised. Story is also LGBTQ+ friendly, as am I. This story and the characters are based on Tangi Gongzi's Three Lives Three Worlds, the Pillow Book, and TMOPB. Images borrowed for this story (like the book cover) belong to the tv dramas and their respective owners/artists. I ask that the original elements of of my story, characters, ideas, and descriptions not be copied or used without my permission. Thank you! May all beings hold themselves and others in lovingkindness.
