"I'm not going to sit around and watch you kill yourself. I've done that two too many times, and I'm not going to do it for a third time." || After moving repeatedly throughout her childhood, Nora Kristoffersen came to recognize two constants in her life - music and her family. When her family finally settles down in Washington state as a teen, she, for the first time, finds her tribe of people in the burgeoning music scene in and around Seattle.

However, the fun punk rock party atmosphere doesn't last long as more of her friends bands get signed and hit it big, leaving her as a background songwriter and roadie spreading herself too thin just to make ends meet. More important people in her life start heading down the wrong path as she's forced to watch them hurl towards self destruction. At the same time and against her better judgement, she starts to fall for her ex-boyfriend's ex-bandmate, someone who quit the Seattle scene years ago to pursue the money making music down in Hollywood.

The more Nora learns about the reality of the music business, the more she comes to see it as a truly wicked garden - a place of untamed pleasure, and unknown pain. But can she do anything to change it? Can she do anything to help her loved ones get off their path towards certain self destruction, or will she get lost in the garden too?

[Set in late 80's & early 90's Seattle and Los Angeles. Contains drug use, violence, self harm/suicide mentions, and sex.]

18+ | steamy, angsty rock star romance with a touch of humor THIS IS A SPIN-OFF SEQUEL TO "A SLIP OF THE HAND." It can be read as a stand-alone, but it does contain major ASotH spoilers. ***Proceed with caution! This blurb contains spoilers for "A Slip of the Hand"*** It starts at a wedding. Fiercely independent Seattleite Victoria Bradford has all but sworn off dating. But when she attends her cousin's glamorous Southern California wedding solo, she's blindsided by feelings of loneliness and inadequacy. In a moment of vulnerability, she meets a brooding, charming stranger. He's witty, disarmingly honest, and-oh yeah-the frontman of the chart-topping rock band, Oliver Rose and The Thorns. Oliver Rose is hollowed out by fame, not to mention the tumultuous journey that led to his latest multi-platinum album. He isn't looking to meet anyone, especially not at his childhood friend's wedding. But in Victoria, he finds someone who sees the man underneath the mask he wears. Victoria and Oliver's instant chemistry transcends their usual barriers, forging a connection neither expected. They've got everything going against them: a thousand miles distance, completely different lives, and the relentless pressures of Oliver's career. However, the biggest threat to their budding romance isn't their contrasting lifestyles. A relationship from Oliver's past threatens to eclipse everything. Cover by the amazingly talented and generous sulkytae! Content warning: explicit sex, drug and alcohol use, profanity, angst

THISIS THE OLD, ORIGINAL VERSION OF THE STORY! I left it up because the new version has significant differences, and I know I always hate it when I liked the old version of a story better and it gets taken down, but I still highly recommend reading the new one. Without further ado... __________________________ "Confidence? I've struggled with confidence my entire life. In fact, to this day, I still struggle, so I fake it. Faking confidence is a lot easier than most believe. Stand up straight, hold your head high, roll your shoulders back, look others in the eye, and stop apologising. Soon, your confidence isn't fake anymore." *** Davy and Jamie Myers were sisters. Just like any other pair of siblings, they had their disagreements and fought every once in a while. Her depression and anxiety start to consume her until she realizes the only way to keep her mind busy was to sing.
