"I'm not going to sit around and watch you kill yourself. I've done that two too many times, and I'm not going to do it for a third time." || After moving repeatedly throughout her childhood, Nora Kristoffersen came to recognize two constants in her life - music and her family. When her family finally settles down in Washington state as a teen, she, for the first time, finds her tribe of people in the burgeoning music scene in and around Seattle.

However, the fun punk rock party atmosphere doesn't last long as more of her friends bands get signed and hit it big, leaving her as a background songwriter and roadie spreading herself too thin just to make ends meet. More important people in her life start heading down the wrong path as she's forced to watch them hurl towards self destruction. At the same time and against her better judgement, she starts to fall for her ex-boyfriend's ex-bandmate, someone who quit the Seattle scene years ago to pursue the money making music down in Hollywood.

The more Nora learns about the reality of the music business, the more she comes to see it as a truly wicked garden - a place of untamed pleasure, and unknown pain. But can she do anything to change it? Can she do anything to help her loved ones get off their path towards certain self destruction, or will she get lost in the garden too?

[Set in late 80's & early 90's Seattle and Los Angeles. Contains drug use, violence, self harm/suicide mentions, and sex.]

THISIS THE OLD, ORIGINAL VERSION OF THE STORY! I left it up because the new version has significant differences, and I know I always hate it when I liked the old version of a story better and it gets taken down, but I still highly recommend reading the new one. Without further ado... __________________________ "Confidence? I've struggled with confidence my entire life. In fact, to this day, I still struggle, so I fake it. Faking confidence is a lot easier than most believe. Stand up straight, hold your head high, roll your shoulders back, look others in the eye, and stop apologising. Soon, your confidence isn't fake anymore." *** Davy and Jamie Myers were sisters. Just like any other pair of siblings, they had their disagreements and fought every once in a while. However, they were also each other's best friends. They never went a day withough hanging out. When an accident takes Jamie's life a week before granduation, Davy finds herself in a place no one ever wants to be. Her depression and anxiety start to consume her until she realizes the only way to keep her mind busy was to sing. So she started singing her sister's favorite music. *** Scott Jacobs always had a hard time making friends. He'd never been overly fond of the human race, so as soon as he graduated college, he moved out to the middle of nowhere to start a new life. A couple months after moving, he met his neighbor, Davy Myers. For the first time in his life, he had a real friend. After finding herself in the middle of a fight outside an L.A club Madison reunites with Mötley Crüe's Tommy Lee, her old best friend. She immediately starts to hang out with the boys of the Crüe and soon the bassist becomes interested in her. But after finding out he is really curious about her, Nikki Sixx invites Madison to go on the Theatre of Pain tour with him and the boys. Going on tour with the world's most notorious rock band has its consequences. Madison experiences how dark the world of rock and roll can be, dealing with serious drug addictions and a complicated love triangle with Tommy, who is engaged to Heather Locklear; and Nikki, with whom she has a very toxic relationship. How will Madison overcome her addictions and manage to make things work out between Nikki and her? I don't own Motley characters or any of their song titles. The story is all fiction. *Some scenes might be based on The Heroin Diaries by Nikki Sixx. Said scenes are written by me, but I do not own their main plot.* Warning: drug use and some sex scenes appear throughout the whole story. This story takes place around 1985-1987.
