What if the happy ending you see is a facade?
Frisk learned the truth many timelines ago. That the world they supposedly experienced and remembered did not exist. That there was no such thing as the monsters being free on the Surface, for it had only brought them back to their last save point.
Out of desperation, they reset the world numerous times. By the time guilt stopped them, the resets forced the world into a terrible situation, where a deep corruption lurks, sending the Underground into chaos.
With a great darkness shrouding the Undergound and the remaining specks of hope flickering out, it may be only a matter of time before the world fades into the abyss forever.

Fallen Under
Fallen Under is a full-length fan-novel of the game 'Undertale' set in 'Underfell'. This work will not have anything sexually explicit, though there is a (major) gore warning. It is light of heart, but some dark themes including suicide, abuse, and murder are explored. Mt. Ebott is famous for the woods that a child may wander into and never return. In legend, monsters snapped up children from villages, hid in dark corners, and ate the souls of the weak or unprepared. When a young child chooses to flee into the mountain rather than face human capture, they find out that these monsters might not just be characters in old children's stories. Frisk Foster, an eight-year-old child cursed by hereditary blindness, falls into a cavern full of merciless monsters, all of which want nothing more than to steal their soul. Armed with only their sense of justice and kindness, Frisk must travel across the underground to get back home. Yet when faced with the terrible truth of the consequence of their escape, can they truly find the will to complete their mission?
