I feel a tap on my shoulder and I turn around to be face-to-face with someone I never thought I'd see again. "L-Luke?" I stutter. Luke stands there, now much older than the last time I saw him, with a face full of pain and regret. "Hi Maddie." He gives a small smile. "I didn't- what are you- how?" I stutter more and try to make my words comprehendable. He looks tired, like he hasn't slept in a while. "I've come a long way to find you," He breathes out. First, I almost want to say sorry for making him come all this way, but then I remember. He's the one that left me.

I felt bad for him, I felt empathy for him and in a way I felt akin to him; like we weren't too far from being of the same ilk as no one had ever truly accepted me. "Well aren't we a lovely pairing." I snorted, "A couple latchkey children trying to make it in a world that doesn't want them." I said derisively. "Only...you are wanted now Maddie...you are wanted very much." He mumbled staring at the floor.
