Isobel Bordot is the Grand Duchess of the Lornai realm where her mother and father rules as Emperor and Empress. Her life has consisted of harmony, joy and riches, but she never let herself become materialistic. She took it upon herself to cook, bake, and garden and sew for herself, becoming someone who was great at craft.

But when the Lornai realm is invaded by the Akleis, the Lornai people are slaughtered and arrested. Those who revisited were publically executed, and the nobility and royalty became prisoners of war. However, but when Isobel is found in a mud covered dress and no sign of the royal coat of arms, she is taken to Akleis to become a servant to the Royals.

So when she becomes the maid to the King and Queen's daughter, she soon meets the imperious Prince Elias Duxbury who just so happens to hate everyone from Lornai.
